NovoAir to Start Rajshahi-Cox’s Bazar Flights in November

Rajshahi-Cox’s Bazar route is going to start next November. A private airline NovoAir flight will ply this route once a week. Awami League presidium member and Rajshahi City Corporation (Rasik) Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton’s proposal was taken by NovoAir.

City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton held a meeting with senior officials of NovoAir and Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Nagar Bhavan on Wednesday (October 26) afternoon to start air traffic on this route. Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Masudur Rahman Rinku, businessman Abdul Awal Khan Chowdhury, Shahadat Hossain Babu, Sadrul Islam, Riaz Ahmed Khan, Abdul Ghaffar, Masum Sarkar, Asaduzzaman Ravi, Sajjad Ali, Motiul Haque, NovoAir Rajshahi Sales Incharge Manik Krishna attended the meeting. Chakraborty, Asaduzzaman Shaon, Operation In-charge of Rajshahi Airport, Sajedul Sabbir, Operation In-charge of Barisal Airport and others were present.

At the end of the meeting, Mayor Khairuzzaman Liton said, ‘Rajshahi residents have long expected direct flights on the Rajshahi-Cox’s Bazar route. I requested the NovoAir authorities in this regard. They decided to launch one flight per week at my request. Travellers can easily travel from Rajshahi to Cox’s Bazar with their families.

Head of Department (Marketing and Sales) of NovoAir Mes-Bah-ul Islam said that with the initiative, courage and support of Rajshahi Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, it has been decided to operate one flight of NovoAir on the Rajshahi-Cox’s Bazar route every week. The probable operation date of the flight has been fixed from November 16-17.

He said the flight would leave from Rajshahi to Cox’s Bazar every week on Wednesday or Thursday at 10:30 am. Again every week on Saturday or Sunday at 3:30 PM the flight will leave from Cox’s Bazar to Rajshahi. It will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes to go to Cox’s Bazar by air from Rajshahi. The minimum fare on this route is fixed at 5 thousand 900 taka.
