Pabna Celebrates Baishakhi with a 10-day Fair

In Pabna, the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BCIC) has organised a 10-day Boishakhi Exhibition Fair to celebrate the Bengali New Year.

Ghulam Farooq Prince, Member of Parliament of Sadar Pabna-05, inaugurated the fair on Sunday, April 14, in the district headquarters’ Bir Muktijoddha Rafikul Islam Bokul Shadhinota Square.

During the Inauguration ceremony, under the direction of Police Superintendent Md. Akbar Ali Munsi, educationist Kazi Kamruzzaman, Zilla Parishad chairman and courageous freedom fighter Abdur Rahim Pakon, journalist Abdul Matin Khan, Bisik central committee organising secretary Afzal Hossain Raja, and well-known businessman Md. Lutfar Rahman, Pabna District Commissioner Mu. Asaduzzaman was in attendance as a special guest.

The 10-day expo, organised by the Bisik District Office and District Commissioner, has the complete support of Bisik Shilpa Malik and Bisik Shilpanagari.

The registered and beneficiary entrepreneurs of Bisik Industrial City have arranged this fair. 40 business owners taking part in the event have adorned the board with a variety of their own creations. The fairgrounds will be open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Entrepreneurs have brought items made of cane, bamboo, jute, handmade or collected clothing, and homemade food.  

The guests were thrilled on the first day of the fair’s opening. Members of nearby cultural organisations participated in the evening cultural program held at the fair.

Artists from District Shilpakala Academy, Sonar Bangla Ma Academy, Uttaran Sahitya Asar, District Shishu Academy, and Nrityanchal collaborated on a musical and dance performance on the first day of the fair’s opening.
