Emirates celebrates Eid-ul Fitr Onboard

Eid-ul Fitr is anticipated to begin on April 10. Emirates intends to celebrate the occasion of Eid-ul Fitr with a variety of regional flavours onboard, traditional Eid foods in the lounges, and new Arabic films and TV shows on the ice.

First, let’s talk about the onboard treats which will be served from the 10-13 April in all classes of Emirates flights from Dubai. Customers travelling in Economy Class from Dubai will be served delectable Eid favourites such as soft lamb kibbeh Labanieh served with vermicelli rice and thick Laban sauce, or chicken biryani topped with crunchy fried onions, raisins, and cashew nuts. Desserts with an Eid theme include chocolate mousse topped with Batheeth crumble and halwa brownie with cardamom sauce.

Customers travelling in premium economy and business class can have fish matfy in a spiced tomato sauce, decadent butter rice, chickpea Hashwa, and ghee rice mixed with potatoes. Traditional Chicken Mashwi el Jeder is also available. Desserts will include rich vanilla and rose mousse cake or a fragrant pistachio and hibiscus namoura with raspberry curd.

First Class patrons can savour well-prepared delicacies like lamb kebabs marinating in spicy tomato butter, braised beef short ribs Machbouse with fragrant rice and a local spice combination, or Hammour Matfy, an Emirati-style spiced tomato sauce with basmati rice. Desserts for Eid will include a warm orange blondie served with a white chocolate and vanilla cream tart covered with caramel sauce, or a vanilla and rose mousse cake with pistachio anglaise and fresh berries.

All passengers will also receive a mini treat with their meal wishing them ‘Eid Mubarak,’ a sweet pumpkin Asseda, with an additional almond apricot tart for Premium Economy, Business and First Class customers.

Customers can help themselves to a rich slice of pistachio cake with cream cheese or an aromatic saffron and cardamom cake in the A380 onboard lounge, where a range of Emirati pastries and Arabic coffee are waiting for them.

The celebration of Eid will also be evident in the Emirates Lounges on the 10th of April where First and Business Class passengers can indulge in some delicious Middle Eastern and Arabic flavours.

And lastly, there is always room for entertainment while flying with Emirates. For those travelling over Eid al Fitr, a wide range of content will be accessible on the award-winning ice, including more than 2000 international films and up to 6,500 channels of on-demand entertainment. This comprises up to 285 Hollywood films and more than 100 Arabic films. TV series in Arabic are available on 46 channels. The Holy Qur’an, and more than 500 channels of Arabic music, including pop, classics, Khaleeji, Maghrebi, and Arabic fusion, and 15 channels of Arabic podcasts and audiobooks are also available to Emirates users.
