After Airbus, this time the American company Boeing has also offered to give their aircraft to Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Boeing has introduced its latest model, the 787-10 Dreamliner.
Shafiul Azim, managing director of Biman, said that Boeing has recently written a letter to the chairman of Biman, which will be discussed in the board meeting on Tuesday.
“We have a partnership with Boeing, they offer us new models that come to market; This is why they have offered us their latest model. We already have their 787-9 model passenger aircraft in our fleet,” he added.
Earlier, the Biman Bangladesh board took a preliminary decision to purchase a total of 10 Airbus wide-body aircraft, including 2 cargo and 8 passenger aircraft. An agreement for the purchase of Airbus aircraft was also signed between the UK government and Bangladesh during the Prime Minister’s visit to London this month.
Biman currently has 21 aircraft in its fleet, most of which are from Boeing. Biman Bangladesh has no Airbus aircraft in its fleet.
The 787-10 Dreamliner is the latest model in the 787 Boeing series.
