Qatar Airways Welcomes Ramadan with Special Festivities

Qatar Airways greets the holy month of Ramadan with plans to serve a customised Iftar to travellers on board as well as in the Al Safwa, Al Mourjan, and Global Premium Lounges. On flights to the GCC, the Middle East, some African and Asian locations, as well as the Indian Subcontinent, there will be special Ramadan options offered.

The Qatar Airways Cabin Crew will make an announcement indicating Iftar time as the sun sets and passengers get closer to the time to break their fast. They’ll also invite passengers from First, Business, and Economy Class to indulge in the tasty treats offered in a specially made Iftar bag to accommodate fasting travellers. The bag’s design features the traditional Arabic calligraphy greeting “Ramadan Kareem” for our visiting clients. The delights include water, dates, a piece of cake, laban, vegetarian and non-vegetarian wraps, Arabic candies, and sweets.

The prayer call will also be announced in the Qatar Airways Al Safwa First Class Lounge and Al Mourjan Business Lounge in order for travellers to use the prayer spaces.

In addition to the usual eating experience offered by Qatar Airways, travellers have the option of selecting a variety of traditional Ramadan favorites, which are presented with the airline’s iconic Ramadan-themed lantern.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “During the Holy Month, it is our duty to tend to each other and foster spirituality. Welcoming one of the most spiritual seasons, Qatar Airways is proud to offer its passengers a calm and curated travel experience during the Sacred Month of Ramadan. On behalf of Qatar Airways, I wish you all a blessed Ramadan.”

The main gateway of Qatar Airways Airport, HIA, has more than 18 large prayer areas with designated ablution facilities to meet the requirements of passengers. Iftar can be enjoyed by travellers at HIA’s numerous eating establishments, which include the Armani Ristorante, the Harrods Tea Room, and Evergreens Organics.
