Dhaka-Beijing Direct Flights to be Launched by Air China

Air China, the state-owned carrier of China, will soon be launching direct passenger flights on the Dhaka-Beijing route for the first time ever. 

According to reports, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh said, the flag carrier of China will initially operate three weekly flights on the Dhaka-Beijing route. The report further cited that CAAB anticipates the airline to begin commercial flight operations by May 2025.

The reports have also cited that, AVM M Mafidur Rahman, Chairman of CAAB, said that Air China has already received the final approval to operate flights to and from Bangladesh.

According to other reports, Air China suggested that Biman Flight Catering Centre supply the in-flight meals for its flights on the route, following the clearance.

As of December 2023, Air China’s fleet consists of 497 aircraft including business jets and passenger fleet which are used to operate flights on 377 routes, including 98 international routes, 16 regional routes and 263 domestic routes.

The airline serves 173 cities in 39 countries and regions, including 61 international cities, 4 regional cities and 108 domestic cities. And soon the Dhaka-Beijing direct flights will be the newest addition to its number of routes operated.
