SriLankan Airlines is now offering a new package deal to its customers in Bangladesh to book an all-inclusive direct flight on the Dhaka-Colombo route at the very low price of USD 388.

SriLankan Airlines is the flag carrier of Sri Lanka and a member airline of the Oneworld airline alliance. Recently, the airline has experienced huge losses after the pandemic hit and it hasn’t been able to recover from the blow properly.

However, since Dhaka is on the list of vital markets for the airline, it is making initiatives to offer attractive deals and packages to its customers in hopes to generate enough revenues to sustain itself.

On January 3, Sharuka Wickrama Adittiya, the Manager of the Bangladesh division of SriLankan Airlines, stated at a B2B event held at his office in the capital that Dhaka is a vital market for SriLankan Airlines and one of the top revenue-generating routes in the airline’s network.

The Manager has also mentioned that since the capital is a trunk route for the airline, the carrier is willing to offer attractive tour packages for passengers travelling from Dhaka. And it is starting by offering such a low price of USD 388 to travel to the executive and judicial capital and largest city of Sri Lanka by population, Colombo.

“We have tour packages to Colombo and Maldives for Dhaka customers,” he further added.

Several franchisees in the Bangladesh market have been appointed by SriLankan Holidays, the leisure arm of the national carrier, to offer attractive deals and our packages to customers travelling in Dhaka.

At the moment, the state-owned airline of Sri Lanka is operating daily flights between the two large and heavily populated capitals, Dhaka and Colombo, with aircraft A330-300 and A330-200. Though the airline has sustained great losses recently, it is still planning to make a feasible comeback through these initiatives.
