The long-awaited and highly anticipated flights on the Dhaka-Toronto route by Biman Bangladesh Airlines has been officially launched yesterday, 27th of June, 2022, 3 months after the first test flight.
On Sunday the MD and CEO of Biman Bangladesh, Dr Abu Saleh Mostofa Kamal made this information public.
Dr Abu Saleh stated on Sunday, 26th of June, “Interested travellers will be able to collect tickets as per the final ticket rates. You can buy tickets from any part of the world using Biman’s website from this afternoon.”
The MD of Biman Bangladesh also added, “Aside from Toronto, travel agents from any country in the world can book a ticket from today and onwards”.
Mostofa Kamal further added, “after the completion of some important tasks the agents in Canada can also use the website of Biman Bangladesh to book flight tickets within 5 to 6 days. Previously, the officials at Biman announced that the Toronto flights will be launched from June 28.”
Biman’s MD has also stated that the first flight(BG 305) of Biman Bangladesh on the Dhaka-Toronto route will take off at 3 AM in the morning that day from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport towards the path to Toronto.
From a source at Biman, it has been gathered that the flight will be making a stop at Istanbul, the Republic of Türkiye, 8 hours and 30 minutes after it takes off from Hazrat Shahjalal Airport, Dhaka, Bangladesh. After taking a break for about 1 hour, the flight will then take off again from Istanbul and set out for a 10-hour and 55-minute journey towards Toronto. The return flight will be scheduled to depart on the same day. Apart from the stopover time, the flight will be on the move for 16 hours straight.
The Biman flights on the Dhaka-Toronto route will be operated twice each week, on Sundays and Wednesdays from now on.
