Kuwait-based airline Jazeera Airways is launching direct flights on the Chittagong-Kuwait route. This route will initially operate three flights a week from January 24. The number of flights will be increased later if the number of passengers increases, said the local agent authority of the company.
Jazeera Airways operates passenger flights in Bangladesh with Galaxy Bangladesh Limited. When asked, Asif Chowdhury, head of the company in Chittagong, said, “We have just announced the launch of the flight; 162 passengers of the first flight already have bought confirm tickets. We didn’t even think about this much response. If passengers’ response continues like this, we’ll increase the flights in future.
“Our passengers are not just going to Kuwait,” he added. “Going to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar via Kuwait. We started this flight in the midst of an extreme crisis over tickets in the Middle East; so that the passengers get some relief.”
The fare for this 6 hours-50 minutes-flight starts from 34 thousand taka. As a result, there is an opportunity to travel from Chittagong to Kuwait and from there to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and other countries in the Middle East at low cost.
From Chittagong to Dubai via Kuwait by Jazeera Airways, the cost of one passenger will be 931 US dollars. 6 hours 50 minutes from Chittagong to Kuwait. Then it will take only 1 hour and 40 minutes to go from Kuwait to Dubai.
The Chittagong-Kuwait route flight was scheduled to start in February due to high passenger demand in the Middle East route. For that reason, the flight is starting ahead of time.
