Tourist Buses to Hit the Roads for the First Time in Bangladesh

For the first time in the country, tourist buses are hitting the roads. Initially, the tourist bus service will start with 2 buses. Bus 2 will travel to Patenga Beach via Tigerpass-Fauzdar Hat DC Park in Chittagong City.

It is being implemented under the management of the Chittagong District Administration and in collaboration with Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC). The service will be officially inaugurated on June 10 at 10 am. Bangladesh Road Transport and Highways Department Secretary ABM Amin Ullah Noori will be the chief guest on the occasion.

According to district administration sources, an initiative has been taken to transform Chittagong into the first innovative district in the country. Various initiatives and programs are already being implemented. In continuation of this, tourist buses are travelling with two double-decker buses for the tourists of Chittagong.

Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman said modern bus service is being launched for Chittagong tourists. This is a special gift from the Hon’ble Prime Minister to the people of Chittagong. Through this, tourists can easily visit Patenga, one of the most beautiful natural beaches in the country. Through this, a new chapter of the modern communication system will start in Chittagong. At the same time, it will be one of the accessories of Smart Chittagong.

Chittagong Additional Deputy Commissioner (LA) Abu Raihan said that initially, the tourist bus service was running with two buses. One of the two houses will have an open roof. Tourists can enjoy the open air. In the future, the number of buses will be increased considering the demand of tourists. AC bus will be added.

It is known that the tourist buses will start from Tigerpass in the two cities and will go to Patenga Beach via Faujdar Hut DC Park and return to Tigerpass via DC Park on the same route from Patenga Beach. The service will operate 3 trips every Friday. It will travel at 9 am, 3 pm, and 4 pm. 4 trips will run every Saturday. Among them 9 am, 10:30 am, 3 pm and 4 pm.

2 trips will operate daily from Sunday to Thursday. Between 3 PM and 4 PM, the train will depart for Patenga from Tiger Pass in Chittagong. On the other hand, every Friday at 12 noon, 7 pm and 8 pm and every Saturday at 1 pm, 2 pm, 7 pm and 8 pm Tiger Pass will come from Patenga via DC Park.

To travel by tourist bus service, the fare from Tiger Pass to DC Park is 40 Taka, from DC Park to Patenga Beach 30 Taka, and from Tiger Pass to Patenga Beach 70 Taka. Similarly, the price of tickets from Patenga to DC Park is Tk 30, Tigerpass Tk 40 from DC Park and Tigerpass Tk 70 from Patenga Beach.
