Buses to Railway Station Now Available at HSIA

To help travellers returning back to the country from abroad with their luggage, Bus services have been made available at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) since Yesterday, 26 June.

Two BRTC buses will be operated from HSIA to the airport railway station and bus station, said M Mofidur Rahman, chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority.

He gave this information at a public hearing organised on Tuesday, June 25, to improve the quality of passenger services at Shahjalal Airport.

Chairman M Mofidur Rahman said, “The BRTC bus service will start from Wednesday (June 26) to provide baggage service to passengers returning to the country. Besides, I have instructed the service companies to provide facilities in advance after asking about the needs of the passengers. The management of Shahjalal Airport is working on improving passenger satisfaction through services.”

About 30 organisations are involved in ensuring smooth passenger service at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The Shahjalal International Airport Authority organised a public hearing on Tuesday, June 25, on how much these organisations have improved the services at the airport and what problems the passengers are facing.

During the hearing, Mofidur Rahman said, “The E-gate system of Shahjalal Airport could not be started as the e-gate system was not handed over to the immigration department within the passport department. However, the current terminal issue at Shahjalal will be resolved soon. Besides, various other facilities of the airport will be improved.”
