Shahjalal Airport resumed Normal Flight Operations

From Monday, August 5, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, Bangladesh, has resumed its normal flight operations.

This report was confirmed by Group Captain Kamrul Islam, Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

ISPR sent a notification early afternoon of Monday which stated that from 5:30 pm, Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will be declared closed for the next 6 hours. There will be no takeoffs during this period. Everything will be closed, even the terminal. In addition, it has been stated that flight operations at other airports across the nation will also be suspended.

It should be mentioned that the army took over on Monday afternoon after Sheikh Hasina sent her letter of resignation to the President and departed the nation. This information was released by Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman following an emergency meeting on Monday, August 5, at 3:50 p.m. at the cantonment in the capital.

He declared that an interim government would be formed to govern the nation. He stated, “I am now accountable for the lives of others. You’re not going to be disappointed. We will comply with all of your requests.”

The Army chief asked the public for help. He said, “As many murders have been committed in the ongoing movement, every murder will be judged. Every injustice will be judged.”
