Alexander Mantytskiy, the ambassador of Russia to Bangladesh, has stated that his nation is interested in launching a Dhaka-Moscow direct flight to facilitate travel for visitors from both nations.
In yesterday’s meeting with Muhammad Faruk Khan, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the Russian envoy stated that his nation aims to support Bangladesh’s aviation sector development.
An aviation ministry release quoted Mantytskiy as saying, “We want to create a partnership with the growing aviation industry in Bangladesh. Russia is keen to provide any kind of assistance there, including technical assistance.”
He argued in favour of the Dhaka-Moscow direct flight, pointing out that many Russian visitors travel to different countries of the world.
He explained, “If direct flights are launched, all Russian tourists will be interested in coming to Bangladesh. If the number of Russian tourists in Bangladesh increases, it will contribute to the development of the tourism industry and strengthen the friendship between the people of the two countries.”.
Faruk Khan expressed his approval of Russia’s offer to work with Bangladesh’s aviation industry as a development partner.
The aviation minister stated that a decision on this would only be made following conversations with the pertinent authorities of the two nations in compliance with international standards.
“Work is on to tap the immense potential of the tourism sector in Bangladesh,” Faruk Khan said.
He has also disclosed the master plan for it which has already been completed, aside from creating high-density tourist zones throughout the nation, including Cox’s Bazar. “We are ready to welcome Russian tourists to Bangladesh.”
