Shahjalal Flights to Recommence

Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, which was closed due to adverse weather conditions, has resumed its flight operations. Shahjalal flights resumed their operations at 6:32 PM on Tuesday.

This information was provided by the Executive Director at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Kamrul Islam.

According to airport sources, due to adverse weather conditions, all flight operations at the airport were halted. On May 23rd, Bangladesh was supposed to experience severe weather calamities and operating any flights would have been considered dangerous. 

And so on the day, all flight movements of Shahjalal International Airport were stopped from 5:30 pm. At the time, flights of US-Bangla Airlines from Sylhet, Maldives and Kuala Lumpur to Dhaka were asked to circle the sky even though they were ready to land. After an hour, the authorities resumed flight operations when the weather conditions normalised. Shahjalal flights are flying based on their priority.
