Due to a technical issue, an Air Arabia flight which was Sharjah-bound returns to Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport two hours after takeoff on Tuesday night, according to airport officials.
Almost twenty-two hours after it originally took off, the plane had not yet departed the port city, according to our local staff correspondent.
A news portal was informed on the next day by Group Captain Taslim Ahmad, the director of Shah Amanat International Airport, that an Air Arabia technical team was attempting to resolve the matter and that they hoped the flight would depart later than 6:00 p.m.
He stated at around midday on Wednesday that about 90 out of the 149 passengers on board were sleeping in motels, others modified their tickets or have returned home.
The director stated on Tuesday that the plane took off from the airport at 7:24 p.m. and successfully landed at 9:35 p.m.
“The captain noticed the electrical problem after take-off and he turned the aircraft around from the Kolkata air border to Chattogram.
“It was an emergency landing, and after the landing, we towed the aircraft from the runway,” he said, adding that measures were taken for the passengers’ overnight accommodation and food.
