Biman Bangladesh Airlines has decided to operate direct flights on the Dhaka-Chennai route from December 16. This decision has been taken mainly to facilitate the medical services of Bangladeshis.
Shafiul Azim, Biman’s managing director and chief executive officer (CEO), said on Thursday, “It is a very busy route for Bangladeshi nationals to visit India.” And that is why we have decided to operate three weekly flights on the route between Dhaka and Chennai.
Shafiul Azim said the flight will be operated on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Currently, US Bangla Airlines, one of the private airlines in the country, is operating flights on the Dhaka-Chennai-Dhaka route.
The tickets for the Dhaka-Chennai flights went on sale on the Biman Bangladesh Airlines website on November 20.
